Enabling rather than challenging
after moving to the rafters with cats
across a sodden promised land
as sinking agrarian standards
and autocratic commanders
impose fractious trappings
not honored in democratic practices
weakening “coup-proof” strategies
demeaning political upheavals
succeeding in suppressing anti-regime activities
feeling in need of, “a little help here”
to the nth degree while mimicking an extinct
bird that grew as tall as 12 feet
and copying creatures manically fleeing
with dark eyespots on their wings ...
